George Miller is a filmmaker I admire. I think he always goes for it in every movie, but aside from a few Mad Max sequels, I don’t outright love the rest of his output (Except Babe which I didn’t include). I do enjoy most of it though.
George Miller – Director Filmography Ranking
11.
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985)
I don’t outright dislike any George Miller movie, there are just several that I find a bit more boring than the others. That said, more movies could stand to be boring in the way Thunderdome is.
10.
Happy Feet (2006)
I think this movie is more wrong time for me. Came out when I was a freshmen in college and just wasn’t what I cared about. Who knows, maybe it will roll into my toddlers rotation and I’ll change my tune after watching it 10,000 times.
6.
Mad Max (1979)
Good, but a little boring, and a little hard to watch when I have the future movies I love so much in mind of what it could be.
5.
Three Thousand Years of Longing (2022)
Short story collections are fun because no matter how many I read I always start out being bummed that the new one isn’t like the last one I liked, only to be quickly won over by the new, and when it is over going into the next thinking it can’t be as good as the one I just finished.
3.
Mad Max 2 (1981)
My top 3 favorite George Miller movies are all Mad Max sequels. I just love him in freak mode.
2.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)
Makes me want to immediately throw on Fury Road (in a good way). The first set piece with Tom Burke is right up there with any action scene from the series and in film.
