Pretty much the only photos I took of this Vancouver trip were from a roof of a friend of a friend the morning we left. For being less than 24 hours total that we were in Canada, I have two stories I still remember.
The first is that we were held at the US border for several hours going back to Seattle because my passport was reported stolen. Turns out CA had no issue letting me in with a stolen Passport, but the US sure as hell weren’t going to let me back in. Eventually found out that it was because several years earlier I lost my passport and the only way to get a new one was to report the old as stolen. Then when moving I must have found my old one and not realized it was not the one I reported and tried to use it.
The second story is that we rolled 10 deep for the trip, traveling 5 people each in two different cars. In line going back to the US (before our car was detained), one of the girls ran up to our window and yelling in to scare us. She quickly looked around the seats and said “Where’s Lilly?”
She thought that her dog Lilly, pictured in one of the photos below, was in our car with her sister. Turns out that the dog was still back in Vancouver. I can’t remember if she was left on the roof these pictures are from or not, but when I retell the story I say she was. So the second car had to travel back to the city. Both cars, because of my passport issues arrived back in Seattle about the same time.
